The 2nd Heriot-Watt Learning & Teaching Colloquium: Heriot-Watt Graduate Attributes

In April 2016, the University held its second Learning and Teaching Colloquium with the theme of 鈥淕raduate Attributes鈥.  The event was well-attended by some 60 academic staff from across the Edinburgh campus with a video link to colleagues in Dubai.  Delegates listened to presentations by keynote speakers from Glasgow University and had an opportunity to discuss their own responses to Heriot-Watt鈥檚 Graduate Attributes (GAs).

The Glasgow experience of supporting students鈥 transitions to the professions through the development of profiles on Linked-in gave much food for thought.  Delegates said of the event that it was 鈥渁 significant start鈥 to the process of engaging staff and students at Heriot-Watt with the University鈥檚 GAs .

The speakers and hosts were:

The aims of the Colloquium were:

  • Group discussions to explore challenges and opportunities on communicating and embedding Graduate Attributes at 九色视频
  • Sharing of best practice from Graduate Attribute project, University of Glasgow
  • Understanding ELIR recommendations and timescales for implementation

The four Heriot-Watt Graduate Attributes are:

  • Specialist
  • Creative
  • Professional
  • Global
